Wish you were charging here! As charging infrastructure is installed at an ever increasing pace, it's vital to ensure drivers can charge their electric vehicles in the most convenient and logical locations. Destination charging is a great solution for many drivers, as it sees chargers available at the end point of a journey, where a vehicle is already dwelling for a longer period of time, for example hotels and tourist destinations.
Electric vehicles (EVs) are crucial for decarbonisation, but like any fairytale, the journey is far from smooth. Our ‘Happy EV After’ ending is at risk. New EVs are costly and lose value far faster than petrol or diesel. Used EV values have dropped at an unsustainable rate. Values are expected to fall another 28% by 2030. We face a crisis.
Vans are the workhorses of the UK economy. One in ten workers – 3.4 million people – rely on a van for their job across a broad range of industries, from engineering and construction to emergency and rescue services. Moving to zero emission vans has been fraught with challenges and complexity which has hampered demand and meant adoption is far behind the ZEV mandate trajectory.

This report captures the vehicle rental sector's impact and the scale of its contribution to the UK's economy and society. Rental vehicles are the worker bees of the transport system. They are essential for the survival of their ecosystem – UK society. The vehicle rental sector is a bellwether for business and consumer confidence and shifts in transport behaviour.
Mobility Credits provide a cost-effective way of delivering targeted transport behaviour change. Owners of the most polluting diesel vehicles (typically pre-Euro 5 diesel) are incentivised to scrap their cars in return for a ‘mobility credit’ that can be used to pay for a range of different public and private transport modes, including buses, trains, trams, bikes rental, car clubs and car rental.
The BVRLA’s Road to Zero Report Card is an annual assessment of the UK’s progress towards zero-emission road transport. Launched in 2019, it provides an overall ranking of progress before taking a deeper look at the respective performance of ZEV demand, infrastructure and supply. Progress for cars, vans, and HGVs are considered in isolation, due to their varying trajectories.
